Camping at Symmons Plains

This large beautiful natural campsite will be by the road between Launceston and Hobart and is easily accessible via a gravel/dirt road in all weather.

There is room for 60+ vans in the marked blue section of the map attached. Overnight parking will be available for fully self-contained motor homes and caravans and big rig caravans. There will be no tent based camping or camping in cars allowed at this location under any circumstances (as there are no facilities).

Campers must carry their own water supply, contain internal washing and toilet facilities, and have onboard wastewater storage tanks (no discharge on the ground). Penalties apply.

Permits are required and are self issued.

Maximum 48 hour stay.

The following rules apply to use this site:

- All rubbish and other waste is to be removed on departure (there are no rubbish bins provided on site)

- Pets are to be always kept under strict control; dogs must always be in leads and not allowed within raceway boundary.

- Use of generators after 10pm are prohibited

- Only a vehicle which is self contained with respect to shower, toilet, washing, cooking and sleeping facilities, with holding tanks for toilet and waste and sullage/grey/black water is permitted. Discharge of liquid and any waste is prohibited within the designated over night areas

Please note that there is no access to the racetrack itself however you can view the track through the fence.

Terms and Conditions of Stay

General:
All fees to be paid via the Honesty Envelopes on arrival at campgrounds gateway.
All Generators must be turned off by 10pm.
No excessive noise or inappropriate behaviour – Please respect other campers.
Trail Bikes, off road bikes, ATV’s, buggies, and such must not be ridden/driven within the camp area or any other areas of Symmons Plains property.
Please note there is a 48-hour limit stay.
No water or power is available.

FIRES: No fires permitted.

RUBBISH: There are no rubbish bins provided on site. Please take all rubbish and recyclable with you.

PETS: Pets are to be always kept under strict control; Dogs must always be on leads and not
allowed within raceway boundary.

FACILITIES: There are no toilet or shower facilities on camp site. All campers need to be self-sufficient,
and all grey water is to be contained within their tanks and not drained out on site.

CAMPFEE SITES:
Per Van $10 per night (non event)
Please put correct money into envelopes provided and complete details on the envelope.
Display the Tag provided in the envelope with Rego and Date on your vehicle’s dashboard where it is
visible for checking by the Caretaker.
Place envelope with completed details in the box provided.

EVENT WEEKENDS:
Campgrounds may be closed for some events and/or may incur an extra event cost with your overnight
stay.
